Why Fresh is Better

Pet Wants

The Pet Wants’ mission is to help improve the health, vitality, and longevity of pets across the U.S. through better nutrition and education. That way, our loyal pet families gain happiness and peace of mind knowing that they are doing the very best they can to love, care for, and feed their four-legged family members.  We want to help educate you on the significant difference between our small-batch fresh food and mass-produced pet food and why you and your pet should care.

How Mass-Produced Pet Food Is Really Made

When most people think about pet food, they think it’s made much like human food. However, that’s not the case.

Most mass-produced pet food (kibble) is highly processed and typically made in huge quantities at one time. For some brands, this quantity can top millions of pounds. After being manufactured, the food is bagged and put into storage until it’s ordered. It’s then shipped out to a distributor and stored again in another series of warehouses until it’s finally ordered and shipped to a retailer where it sits on their shelves. That entire process, from manufacturing to the pet’s bowl, can be anywhere from several months to over a year. Sadly, and surprisingly, pet food slowly degrades over time and loses more and more of its nutritional value…robbing our pets of what they truly need for optimal health, vitality, and longevity.

Without knowing any better, you mistakenly believe the bag of food you just picked up at the store for your beloved pet is fresh and nutritiously complete and balanced. Odds are, it’s NOT. In fact, that very bag could be 12-18 months old before your pet eats it at reduced nutritional value. After all, the expiration date on dry food (always look) is not when the food actually spoils, but rather the day it can no longer be considered a complete diet. But remember, it’s been losing vital nutritional value all along the distribution and storage process. Now you know the truth!

The Pet Wants Difference…Why Fresh is Better

Fresh is at the core of who we are, what we believe, and what we do. We live it and breath it every day. Unlike mass-produced pet food, Pet Wants delivers natural and fresh food to your pet’s bowl within weeks of being made and at the height of its freshness and nutritional value. Our food is made fresh every month in small batches and slow-cooked to ensure the highest quality nutrition possible. We never mass produce our food. We only make it order every month and then immediately and directly ship it to our franchise owners who then bag it to order and deliver it directly to our customers.

We’ve spent years perfecting our recipes and continue to innovate all the time.  And unlike others, we have strict company guidelines in place to ensure your pet gets our food while it’s fresh, complete, balanced, and at its optimal nutritional value…after all, the health and happiness of your pet depend on that.

And now you know. Today is a great day to declare “fresh is better” and try one of our fresh, natural, high-quality pet food formulations, delivered right to your door!
